DAY 01: Manali (2050m) / Sethan to Jobri Nalla
Drive to Sethan village, then our trek takes us through a dense pine forest and into a narrow valley, passing Sethan village (home to the gypsy people). Finally, we reach the hydro power project dam before arriving at our camp for an overnight stay.
DAY 02: Jobri Nalla / Balu ka Ghera (3900m) - 5-6 hrs.
We trek through a thickly forested area adorned with an abundance of flowers. The trail leads to a place called Chhika, where we cross the Hamta stream via a bridge. We continue our trek to Balu ka Ghera, known for its wildflowers, rocks, and caves.
DAY 03: Balu ka Ghera / Hampta Pass (4270m) / Shiya Gohr (4000m) - 7 HRS.
We start a gradual climb to Balu ka Gera, also known as the "bear's den," famous for its wildflowers, rocks, and caves. A further 1.5-hour trail takes us to Hamta pass, offering fantastic views of Inderkila, Deo Tibba (6001m), and Indersan (6220m). After crossing Hampta pass, we enter the Lahoul valley and walk down to the campsite near a stream for an overnight stay.
DAY 04: Shiya Gohr / Chhatru (3100m) - 6 hrs.
We cross the stream near the camp and follow the right bank until it joins with the Chandra River. We continue to follow the left bank of the Chandra River.
DAY 05: Chhatru / Chhota Dara (3'800m)
We walk on a dirt road, following the right bank of the Chandra River. Along the trail, we see huge granite walls popular among rock climbers. We also enjoy views of Chhota Shigri glacier and some stunning peaks before setting up camp near the river.
DAY 06: Chhota Dara / Batal (4'000m) - 6/7 hrs.
We enjoy a relatively easy walk along the right bank, with stunning views of Bara Shigri glacier and towering peaks. We camp overnight at Batal.
Day 07: Batal - Chandratal (18 Kms/6 hrs)
After breakfast, we trek to Chandratal, a place of exquisite beauty nestled between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.
Day 08: Chandra Tal to Manali
After breakfast, we drive back to Manali via Rohtang pass, re-entering the lush green valley, a popular spot for adventure tourism. Overnight stay in a hotel.
