Vashisht Fire Chronicles

Witness the raw resilience of Vashisht as it stood against the flames that swept through its serene landscapes in January 2024.
In the first weeks of January 2024, the tranquil village of Vashchit faced an unprecedented challenge as a fierce wildfire, born in the humble Bahang village on January 6, slowly crept its way through the picturesque landscape.
The dry grass and bushes succumbed to the fire, transforming into ash and smoke. Outbuildings remained untouched.

By January 12, the flames had reached Koshla village. The resilience of Vashisht's residents was truly commendable. With united forces, they stood together to protect their homes and communities. However, the relentless fire managed to climb into the mountains, where it voraciously devoured dry grass and fallen trees, leaving behind a trail of destruction.

As of January 14, the situation has stabilized, and the brave efforts of the locals have paid off. No new fires have been reported, and the once-ominous plumes of smoke have significantly decreased. Despite the challenges faced, there's a sense of relief and gratitude in Vashisht.
